Just Go Vote

I hope I’m done hurricane dodging for awhile and can get back to blogging and hanging out online.

I’m from North Carolina, where too many residents are trying to get back on their feet after the one-two punch of Hurricanes Florence and Michael. We were lucky – Florence gave us 7 inches of rain over 3 days, and then Michael gave us another 3 inches in a day – but we didn’t have any damage. That’s nothing compared to what many people got. The recovery from these storms will take months, and a lot of people are hurting.

I didn’t want my hurricane guide to be needed so quickly, but I’m glad the info was out there. I’ve  learned some important lessons about how to improve the guide, and I’ll get to work on those changes.

Moving on…

We’ve got important business that can be summed up in one word.

VOTE

Midterm elections are quickly approaching. Some states already have early voting sites available. People wanted to complete an absentee ballot need to send for it to get it in time to vote.

Do you have questions about voting absentee, finding your polling place, etc.? Go to vote.org for answers.

This is your duty, your chance to have your vote heard. Your vote is needed now more than ever. I don’t care if you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent, etc. – you need to vote. Don’t say it’s “just” the mid-terms. This election if important, and you need to show up.

World, please remember that chronic illness does not make people invisible or irrelevant.
